日本語↓I was worried about rain but luckily the weather was beautiful for our 3rd clean up! Today, we tried to stay in a group, focusing on a smaller area. We had representatives from 4 countries, Australia, Japan, China and New Zealand. We found a range of items, such as half drunken cans of soft drink, coconut water and milk tea, a baby's dummy, pokemon cards, a unicorn name tag and more. A lot of small plastic wrappers, plastic cup lids, gum and broken zip ties also caught our attention. No matter what it was, it was sad to think how much of this rubbish would normally be reaching our waterways. As usual, we caught the attention of the public, some who stopped to praise our work. Our Green Bird jerseys did their job of letting everyone know who we were! Already looking forward to next month's event.
今日のグリーンバードチームはオーストラリア、ニュージーランド、日本と中国という4カ国を代表していました！先週日本から来たばかりの大学生も早速参加してくれましたね♪半分だけ飲んでポイ捨てしてしまった飲み物を色々拾ったり、ガム、プラスティックの蓋や飴の包み紙(紙じゃないけど)などが数多く拾えました。ポケモンカードやユニコーンのキーホルダーなど、意外なものも出てきました。混んでいる道を少し歩いてみるとゴミ拾い活動に関心を見せてくれた人々もいました。少なくとも一瞬でもゴミ問題の深刻さに注目してもらえたと思います。日本みたいに道が綺麗になれるといいのに、と、海の動物にこんな汚いゴミの中を泳いで欲しくないという思いで、今日も頑張れました☺️来月も、よろしくお願いします。
