Hello everyone!
Green Bird Sri Lanka team brings you
warmest greetings from Sri Lanka!
This time we have such a great report of
our most recent activity.
There was a Green Bird MEGA trash picking program at
Bus terminal- Kurunegala, Sri Lanka.
We are so happy to report you that
we were privileged to have the
Head of the Operation of Green Bird Headquarters in Japan
Mr. Toshinari Yokoo, Green Bird team leaders
Ms. Junko Akisawa and Mr. Yakawa with us on that day.
We also had a team from TBS Network in Japan
Ms. Yamada Aki, Ms. Tabata Yurie and Ms. Satoko Nagata.
And a 4th year university student Ms. Harada Mayu as well
joined with her beautiful smile. All girls and boys had a
good time regardless of what nationality they are.
Mr. Jayalath representing the Civilians committee of
District secretariat- Kurunegala joined us too.
He was such a humble person that he came all along and
enjoyed the event with other green team members.
Many students and teachers from Sputnik International
Education Center joined hands to make the day a success.
It was a very sunny day, even while the harsh weather,
they all came together and worked hard
until the end of the program.
After compiling the trash bags, they were dumped at the
municipal council trash dumping area. Then the team
was moved to the banks of Kurunegala Lake round
for refreshments.
Mr. Yokoo, Mr. Yakawa wanted to reward the team with
Green bird badges and stickers while TBS team
rewarded the team with Japanese sweets.
Everyone was happy and from both Japanese team and
Sri Lankan team a team member came forward to offer
their gratitude and vote of thanks.
It was such a warm and joyful event that everyone was
enjoying. A special thank should go to Mr. Yokoo and
his team, MS. Akisawa and her team Ms. Harada Mayu and
Mr. Jayalath who came all the way to make this program
a great success!
